Common Futures conducted a light content review of the "Menu for Green Growth" developed by the Dutch Association for Sustainable Energy (NVDE), with a focus on the methodology and outcomes of the menu.
The NVDE Menu for Green Growth is a policy proposal that outlines concrete measures to help the Netherlands achieve its climate targets more quickly and effectively. The package includes proposals that not only reduce CO₂ emissions, but also create economic opportunities and reduce dependency on fossil fuels. The menu is intended as a practical guide for policymakers and coalition negotiators.
The measures in the menu together have the potential to reduce CO₂ emissions in 2030 by more than 25 megatons per year, well above the current targets of Dutch climate policy, while unlocking around €12 billion annually in investments in sustainability.
In January 2025, NVDE officially presented the "Menu for Green Growth" to Minister Sophie Hermans for Climate and Green Growth.
