Common Futures supported Gasgrid Finland, the Finnish gas TSO, in analyzing the role of pipeline infrastructure to facilitate the Finnish hydrogen economy.

Finland is well placed to become a frontrunner in clean hydrogen due to its excellent hydrogen production conditions. Gasgrid Finland is developing a national hydrogen pipeline infrastructure to transport large volumes of hydrogen between producers and consumers in Finland and connecting with European markets.

We analyzed the potential business case of initial pipeline segments, and their growth into a larger hydrogen network, using our Common Futures hydrogen transport and storage simulation tool. We also analysed the expected benefits of the full hydrogen infrastructure to producers and consumers.

Common Futures has a thorough understanding and vision of hydrogen transport and storage infrastructure. The team provided valuable, flexible support in an efficient manner. Sara Kärki Senior Vice President Hydrogen Development, Gasgrid Finland
